SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS

This summary provides key points from our Privacy Notice. You can find more details about any of these topics by reading below or by using the table of contents to navigate.

  • What personal information do we process? When you use DocDock, all file storage, OCR, conversions, and transcription actions occur entirely on your local device. We do not transmit or upload your files to our servers. Local connection details (IP address and device identifiers) are processed briefly in memory to negotiate local P2P LAN transfers.
  • Do we process any sensitive personal information? No. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information.
  • Do we collect any information from third parties? No. We do not collect information from third parties.
  • How do we process your information? We process your information locally to perform the utility features of the app (file conversions, P2P transfers, scanner tool, QR code generation, theme customization, audio transcription, and integrations). OAuth credentials for cloud drives (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) are held locally on your device to query cloud APIs directly. No credentials or files are ever sent to us.
  • In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? We do not share your files or data. File sharing occurs exclusively with peers you explicitly authorize and pair with via local network Wi-Fi/LAN.
  • How do we keep your information safe? Your local files are protected by your operating system's sandbox and encryption. P2P transfers are encrypted using chunked AES-GCM payloads with secure pairing verification tokens.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

We collect information you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us for support or report bugs. This includes your name, email address, and any screenshot attachments you provide.

Payment Data

We offer a DocDock Pro subscription. All billing and payment processing are managed securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store your payment card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses. Payment data is processed in accordance with the transaction terms of the respective app stores.

Application Data (Local Processing)

If you use our application, we may collect or negotiate the following information locally on your device:

  • Mobile Device ID & Hostname: Used to customize your device's display name for P2P discovery by other users on your local network.
  • Local IP Address: Processed in-memory to establish temporary P2P HTTP listener connections for file transfers.
  • Google API and OAuth Tokens: Our use of information received from Google APIs (Google Drive scopes) adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Access tokens and refresh tokens are stored locally on the device keychain/preferences and are never transmitted to us.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

We process your information for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate local file transfers: Establishing peer pairing via secure matching-code sequences.
  • To provide on-device document editing, OCR, and conversion utilities: Converting images, compiling PDFs, generating transcripts, and signing documents.
  • To process cloud storage downloads/uploads: Linking directly to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON?

We process your personal information only when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, such as with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or perform our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party corporations or analytics agencies. The only sharing of data is the P2P file transfers you manually initiate with other devices on your local Wi-Fi/LAN network.

5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

Since we do not collect or upload your files or metadata to a centralized server, we do not store your data. All document files, app histories, and linked settings are kept on your device until you delete the files or uninstall the application.

6. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We implement industry-standard encryption for local data transfers. Peer pairing is secured via a short-lived random token and numeric verification codes. Local storage respects platform-level sandboxing. However, please remember that no electronic transmission over the internet or local network can be guaranteed 100% secure.

7. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services.

8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK), you have rights that include the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we process. Since all of your files and transfer histories are stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by deleting files, resetting linked accounts, or uninstalling the app.

9. UNITED STATES STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Under state laws like the CCPA/CPRA (California), you have rights regarding access, deletion, and portability of your data. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by these statutes.
